Bio

Abasheva Yana founded TWERKIT Studio in Russia circa 2016. Her Rihanna "Needed Me" choreo upload from August 2016 hit 904K views and became the template for beginner twerk instruction in the Russian-speaking internet. It's the kind of video that launched careers — half the Russian twerk creators trained at TWERKIT before branching out.

She specializes in beginner pedagogy. Her camera + filming setup (done by Станислав Абрамов) is simpler than MDC NRG — closer framing, shorter videos, focused on one or two key moves at a time. That accessibility is why her content teaches at scale.

Technique signature

Three marks: (1) tight framing — camera usually 6-8 feet from the dancer, 50mm equivalent lens; (2) slow demonstration first, full speed second — every upload shows the move twice; (3) loose body, not counts — she's teaching feel, not 8-count discipline.
