Street Project Volzhsky TWERK Shake Dat

Bio

Школа Танцев Street Project (Street Project Dance School) is the most visible regional Russian dance studio outside the Moscow / St Petersburg axis. Located in Volzhsky — about 1,000 km southeast of Moscow, on the Volga river — the studio operates from a single-floor space attached to a community center and runs year-round classes for adults and kids both.

Their TWERK "Shake Dat" choreography is the most-replayed cut, but their broader catalog is a primer in what regional Russian studios actually look like in 2026: less polished than MDC NRG, less algorithmic than Moscow solo creators, more focused on locally-recruited students than international workshop tourism.

Technique signature

Three marks of a Street Project upload. (1) Mid-budget production. Single static camera, basic lighting, occasional title cards. The bar is "watchable and useful," not "TV-ready." (2) Bigger ensemble counts. Where MDC NRG runs 4-6 dancer formations, Street Project routinely fields 10-12 dancers — the result of running classes year-round with locked enrollment. (3) The Jazz-funk Kids crossover. Their unique program. Kids classes don't normally feed into twerk content, but Street Project structures their kids program around technique that explicitly translates into adult-class material later. The studio is one of the few in Russia building a developmental pipeline.

Reference repertoire

Strongest cuts: TWERK "Shake Dat" series, periodic Megan Thee Stallion interpretations, occasional Russian-language pop. They post 2-3 uploads a month, less than the Moscow studios but more than their Volzhsky-area peers. Reach is regional.

Why they matter

Russian regional studios are a structural piece of the scene that international audiences rarely see. Street Project is on our roster because they prove the methodology — heels choreo curriculum, structured class blocks, video pipeline — can run in a city of 300K instead of a city of 12M. That replicability is part of why the Russian scene has the depth it does.

Studio + access

Open enrollment year-round. Adult heels-choreo classes, kids jazz-funk classes, weekend intensives. Pricing well below Moscow rates (~600-800 ₽ per drop-in, ~$7-10 USD). Booking through VK only. English uncommon — Russian-speaking students get more out of attending.
