LABARBIE is a solo Colombian dancer based in Medellín, originally from Bogotá. She trained in commercial reggaetón technique through 2018-2022 at studios in the Chapinero district, then relocated to Medellín in 2023 where her work shifted toward what she calls "piso real" — real-floor reggaetón. The pieces are mostly recorded street-fancam style: phone or single-camera, no studio polish, just isolated technique on whatever surface is available.
She became visible to the Latin twerk community in late 2023 through three Karol G–Anitta crossover cuts that traveled fast across Spanish-language TikTok before she had any platform presence. We added her to the Twerkhub roster in February 2024 after Yurgenis tagged us in a thread about Medellín-based dancers worth tracking.
Three marks of a LABARBIE piece. (1) Static low-angle camera. Most of her uploads use a phone on a low surface, lens height at hip level. (2) Pure floor work. She rarely stands. The pieces are designed around what the body can do at floor contact — knee work, hip isolation, shoulder pivots. (3) Track-respect editing. No speed-ramps, no cut transitions. Track plays in real time, dancer dances in real time. Honest documentation.
Her best-known work clusters around the Karol G "Mañana Será Bonito" album and Anitta's 2024 reggaetón crossover singles. She also has a smaller catalog of older perreo callbacks — Don Omar, Plan B, Ivy Queen — which is the part of her work Alexia rates highest because it shows the historical literacy.
The Medellín reggaetón scene over-rotates toward studio commercial pieces — bright lighting, group choreo, marketing-ready edits. LABARBIE is the counterweight: low production, real floor, real bodies, real sweat. She represents the half of Colombian reggaetón that doesn't show up on dance reels. We need both halves to make the Colombia roster honest.
2026 plans: she's been talking with Yurgenis about a joint Medellín-Caracas residency. If that ships we'll cover it. Outside of that she stays solo, no studio affiliation, no manager.
